Longview Community Ministries is one of our Local Missions partners. Their vision is to “…improve the quality of life of people in our community by providing resources to help meet today’s needs and by giving a helping hand to move from dependence to higher levels of life independence. All services are provided within a welcoming environment with respect for every person.” As we support LCM with food and hygiene donations to fill their shelves, we are supporting their mission to our neighbors as an extension of the love of Jesus himself. We can do this by filling the bins in the foyer every 4th Sunday. They can always use any nonperishable food items, toiletries, and diapers, but the monthly focus items they are collecting are listed below!
Our first Sunday to “fill the bins” will be Sunday, August 23! Let’s make it a great success! Bring your donations and drop them off at the marked bin in the Worship Center Foyer (or the Church Office).
The bins will be available all the time in the worship center foyer as well as in the church offices building for any contributions outside of our 4th Sunday corporate collection.
The focus items right now are:
- Ramen noodles
- mac & cheese
- Soup
- Canned beans
- Toothpaste
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Lotion
