Mid-Week Musings from Lead Pastor Todd Malone
We plan to resume the 9:00 hour on September 13, but it will not look like it did before Covid. We are taking steps to make sure students and volunteers in Kids Ministry will be safe. This might mean smaller class sizes or combining classes. We will make sure that our activities do not put people at risk, which might require a simplified program in Kids Ministries. Similarly, we will take the necessary steps to protect Life Group participants through social distancing and other wise practices.
Flexibility and grace are vital at this time. Bear with us as we discover what does and does not work well.
Romans 11 ends with the assurance that God’s mercy is relentless – even using the hardening of hearts to reveal His mercy. As Slade noted, we uniquely benefited from this truth. We are the Gentiles that God reached through the hardening of Israel’s hearts. The lengths God goes to pursue us with His love are remarkable.
How to pray for FBC
Please continue to pray for our Kids Ministry. Pray for wisdom in how to re-open Sunday morning classes. Pray for the provision of volunteers to lead the classes.
How to pray for our Community
Schools are starting to open, which creates uncertainty and stress for teachers, parents, students, and staff. Schools are already reporting positive tests among students and faculty. Fortunately, it seems to be well-contained so far. Let’s pray for peace and safety for all involved.
How to pray for our World
The presidential election took a step forward with the selection of the Democratic Vice President candidate. I am praying today for a just process, which includes the media, voting, and how the parties conduct themselves.
