Mid-Week Musings from Lead Pastor Todd Malone
I am looking forward to being back at the church this Sunday. If you feel comfortable joining us in person, our service will be at 10:30am. We are excited to have you join us online if you prefer.
FBC’s buildings will reopen on August 3. Most of the staff will be back in the office. Staff will wear masks and have masks available to those who visit. We will also make available a way to check temperatures on the way in.
We had hoped to relaunch Life Groups and Kids Ministry on August 16. The date has now been pushed back to September 13. We will take the necessary steps to create a safe environment when we open the 9:00am hour, so it might not look exactly as it did in the pre-Covid days.
The circumstances behind Romans 11 caused people to question if God was faithful. Paul answered that we do not always see how God’s faithfulness is playing out, but it is at work even if it is behind the scenes. I have been encouraged this week as I have made time to reflect on God’s past faithfulness in my life. Remembering the ways I have seen God’s faithfulness helps me when His faithfulness is hidden behind circumstances.
How to pray for FBC
Pray that God’s faithfulness will be evident as we prepare to relaunch Kids’ Ministry and Awana. We want to make sure that we are taking the appropriate safety precautions guarding our children, our volunteers, and the many families involved. Please pray for wisdom. Pray for the provision of volunteers.
How to pray for our Community and our World
I am weary of the uncertainty and out-of-control feel to our world. Politics, our social order, and the public’s health are in disarray. Little in daily life is certain, and that is an exhausting way to live. Tonight, I am praying for order in our community and our country. I am praying for God to bring peace… peace in our politics, peace as we address perplexing social issues, and peace as we seek answers to Covid-19. I join the lament in Psalms calling for God to bring order to our land.
