Sermon Reflection

We use the word “majestic” for God almost as a cliché. We sing it and say it, but don’t think about what it means that God is majestic. God is unlimited. There are no limits to His power, knowledge, or where or how He can act. Remarkably, He uses His majesty to deepen His relationship with us, protect us, and grow us.

Prayer Prompts

How to pray for FBC

XBA is in full swing. Please pray for the children to be safe and have a great time. Most importantly, pray that they will come to know Jesus better or for the first time.

How to pray for our Community

Today’s paper highlighted a substance abuse prevention group, the Coalition for Drug-Free Youth. The coalition aims to educate youth and adults to help prevent drug use. They are a part of Partners in Prevention, an organization that brings together different groups and individuals to serve the community. FBCer Bonnie Hull is an important part of Partners. Pray for the Coalition to continue to impact lives this year. Pray that those seeking refuge in substance abuse would come to know the Lord.

How to pray for our World

Immigration issues are back (still?) in the news. It might surprise you to know how important it was to the Lord that Israel be a good host to foreigners. I am not suggesting that we should mirror Israel’s policies, but I do think we are to apply their attitude. No matter what is best for immigrants and their families, we should pray that they find provision, protection, and, ultimately, the Lord.
