Mid-Week Musings from Lead Pastor Todd Malone
Sunday’s passage convicted me of how often I treat my brothers and sisters in Christ in ways I would never want my children to treat each other. Why am I okay treating people this way? Probably because I don’t take Paul seriously when he calls us the “household of God.” I am praying that the Lord will open my heart to the true nature of my relationships with my fellow believers.
How to pray for FBC
VBS is going great. We have a ton of kids hearing about God’s goodness. Please pray that those who do not know the Lord will come to know Him. Pray for those who know the Lord to have their faith strengthened.
How to pray for our Community
Please continue to pray for Family Promise of Longview (formerly Longview Interfaith Hospitality Network). This is an important ministry in our community. Family Promise partners with local churches (including FBC) to provide housing for homeless families. Most organizations that work with the homeless require families to split up into different shelters for men and women. What a blessing to have an organization that keeps families together.
Like many organizations that rely on donations, Family Promise is struggling financially. Please pray for the Lord to provide. Check out their website at https://familypromiseoflongview.com/ for more information. You can also donate through their website.
How to pray for our World
Pray for the team heading to the Philippines. The full team will be there from July 1 – 11 (part of the team is already there). We will have multiple opportunities to share the gospel with large crowds. We will also have the chance to encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ who live there. I will be able to train and encourage pastors at a conference. Please pray for our safety. More importantly, pray for us to be bold and clear with the gospel and that God’s Word will be received.
