Mid-Week Musings from Lead Pastor Todd Malone
Last Sunday’s Livestream
I understand we had challenges with the livestream last Sunday. We had a few technical issues in house, but those should be fixed. I believe the main issues had nothing to do with FBC and were out of our control. We have been reassured that those are also fixed. The livestream should be flowing in the right direction this next week. Don’t hesitate to stick your toe back into the water and try it again.
Love trumps freedom. Having the right to do something does not mean it is the right thing to do. In general, we understand that in principle, but it can get challenging to live out. We must not put other Christians in positions to violate their conscience, even if the issue is not a problem for us. That’s hard to apply. A movie I enjoy might not violate my conscience or create temptations, but it might for someone else. The part of me that wants to say, “Don’t be silly,” needs to stay quiet out of love.
How to Pray for FBC
Have you noticed how many funerals we have had lately? There are several grieving families in our church. Let’s pray for their comfort and peace.
How to Pray for Our Community
I have regularly called for us to pray for our national elections. Take time this week to pray for our local elections. Pray that the people elected will seek to glorify God in their positions of authority.
How to Pray for Our World
I looked at some pictures recently of a trip I took to China years ago. It reminded me of the challenges facing Christians in the communist country. Life was not great for Chinese Christians when I visited, but it is worse now. Take a second and pray for the encouragement and endurance of these faithful brothers and sisters.
