Mid-Week Musings from Lead Pastor Todd Malone
Everyone longs for connection. We want to be fully known and loved. We want to give love and receive love. The Lord is forming His church to be such people. The problem is that I build barriers. I make it hard for people to know me. I do not try hard to pursue reconciliation with others. I do not give others the same benefit of the doubt that I want them to give me. Help me, Lord, to tear down the walls that I keep creating.
NEW LIFE GROUP: FOUNDATIONS
Starts this Sunday
FBC will launch a new Life Group on October 6th. The class will be called “Foundations” and will discuss some of the foundational aspects of the Christian life. It doesn’t matter if you are a brand-new Christian or have been a Christian for years – these are the truths and practices that we come back to again and again in the Christian life. Wayne Allred and I will team teach the class. You may sign up HERE.
How to pray for FBC
Pray that FBC will be a church that tears down walls between people. This will mean having the hard conversations to reconcile relationships. It will mean refraining from conversations that spread gossip. It will mean forgiving one another.
How to pray for our Community
Longview hosted 113 National Night Out parties this week. These are intended to be opportunities for neighbors to get to know one another and for neighborhoods to get to know law enforcement. Let’s take time this week to pray for the relationship between law enforcement and the community.
How to Pray for our World
A couple of people have shared with me a Fox News story about revival taking place in Iran. Christians are under extreme threat in this Muslim country. Let’s pray for their safety and for the spread of the gospel.
