Mid-Week Musings from Lead Pastor Todd Malone
The sermon challenged you to have a conversation with someone with a different conviction. The goal of the conversation is to understand their conviction, not to argue or debate. I have found that sometimes I need to set a low goal, especially on complex issues. Often my goal is to learn one new piece of information. I recently talked to someone who had a very different conviction about a debatable topic. I did not learn new facts, but I learned a different way of looking at the facts. This person had concerns about dangers I had not thought about. I still do not hold his convictions, but I understand better why he holds them.
