Mid-Week Musings from Lead Pastor Todd Malone
Sunday’s passage challenged me to think more carefully about the marks of the Spirit-filled life. Paul’s list in Ephesians 5 is not necessarily my list. Whole-hearted corporate worship, the ability to always give thanks, and mutual submission are the signs that Paul gives for a Spirit-filled life. I can fake a lot of things, but I can’t fake those. Only the Spirit can produce them. I am asking the Lord to produce them more in my life.
How to pray for FBC
Ephesians 5:15-21 is about congregations as much as it is about individuals. Pray that we would be a church that values corporate worship, gives thanks always, and yields to one another. That is the kind of church that will impact our community and the world.
How to pray for our Community
The news is predicting severe weather in the area this Friday. There is the possibility of tornadoes. Pray for safety for our community.
Let’s also pray for the family of Panola County Deputy Chris Dickerson, who was shot and killed on December 31st. This is a good reminder to pray regularly for the safety of our first responders.
How to pray for our World
The conflict in Iran is spilling into Iraq. This affects FBCers who are working there. Please pray for their safety and the protection of their work. For the sake of confidentiality, I cannot be more specific.
