Mid-Week Musings from Lead Pastor Todd Malone
The Body of Christ is a remarkable gift. It is a joy to connect with believers in a different part of the country, many of whom I will never see again, but know that we are united in Christ. I can be away from home but find encouragement, exhortation, challenge, and support. On the other hand, I long to be home to my particular community of the Body of Christ. Being away also reminds me of the blessing God has given me (and all of us) at FBC.
HOW TO PRAY FOR FBC, OUR COMMUNITY, AND OUR WORLD
This past weekend marked the celebration of MLK day and Sanctity of Life Sunday. There is a common thread: all life, every person, is important to God and must be important to us. The world finds different ways to devalue people, whether it’s the unborn, the elderly, people who look different or people who have physical, mental, or emotional challenges. Christians are devalued for having a belief-system that the world does not understand.
There is not a person alive (which includes the unborn) who is not created in the image of God. When the Father sent Jesus, it was for the whole world – everyone. The church is where people should see this truth lived out. Let’s make that our prayer – that FBC will be a place where people see that God’s love knows no boundaries. Let’s pray that our community and our world will get glimpses of God’s unbounded love through His people.
