Week 5 – Go
Week Five’s Key Passage
2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.
5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. 6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.
Colossians 4:2-6 (ESV)
Tuesday – FBC Missionaries: U.S.-Based
Many missionaries making global impact are based in the U.S. for important, strategic reasons. This is the case with missionaries at TECH Team, Wycliffe, and various aviation-related missionaries, for example. Many missionaries in these organizations need to be U.S.-based to provide the necessary administrative support for overseas efforts. FBC also supports U.S.-based missionaries reaching internationals who come to the U.S. Countries where it is illegal to be a missionary regularly send their citizens to the U.S. for school and work. These U.S.-based missionaries make the best use of this opportunity.
- Pray for Encouragement: Sadly, U.S.-based missionaries are often treated as second-class because they are not overseas. Pray that they remain encouraged in their ministry.
- Pray for Resources: Many people stop financially supporting missionaries when they come back to the U.S. Pray for their financial support.
- Pray for Transformation: As with yesterday, pray that the people being reached through these missionaries’ efforts receive clear presentations of the gospel.
Thank you for praying with us through these 40 days!
