GIVE UP ONE GIFT” IS A SUCCESS!
We accepted the challenge to give up one of our own Christmas gifts in order to “Light Up Christmas” at South Ward Elementary School and give every student a Christmas gift. All the trees were lighted as of last Sunday. Thank you for such a wonderful response.
Due to your great generosity, we are able to assist Principal Rebeca Cooper with one of her dreams: The Eagles’ Nest. In coordination with the PTA and other individuals, we will contribute to create a play area with games, doll houses, Lego tables and more that the kids may not have at home. The students will earn time in the Eagles’ Nest by showing positive behaviors, serving as both a reward and learning experience. We are thrilled to be able to help! It’s not too late for you to be a part of this wonderful experience. See us at the display in the foyer today to contribute!
ROAD SKILLS FOR PARENTS
January 7, a new GROW group for parents will begin meeting at 9:00 a.m. Pastor Jim will teach ROAD SKILLS for Parents. Using the book of Proverbs, we will help parents understand and implement essential life skills such as work ethics, word ethics, problem solving, and self-discipline. Time commitment is about 20 weeks; Cost is $5 for materials. Register soon at The Hub in the foyer or online at longviewfbc.info
